About OWPF

The Oxford Wildlife Photography and Film-making Society (OWPF) was founded in 2020, and is run by students at Oxford University, who all have a love of wildlife photography, film, and conservation.

Our society is open to any member of the University who share these passions, or simply want to try them out! No camera required, join to meet our friendly community, come along to events and celebrate each other's photos!

We have an active ~200 member WhatsApp group where we share and celebrate photos (you can join here) and check out our socials for our members latest wildlife photos - we're @oxwpf on Instagram.

Hannah Jones

Hi! As the President of OWPF, I’m responsible for keeping the society running and organising events.

Outside of OWPF, I’m a DPhil student at Trinity College, studying Materials Science - my project is all about imaging atoms one by one in my samples - so it’s nice to zoom out a bit and take photos of things which are a bit bigger (and moving!).

I’ve been interested in photography for as long as I can remember, but in 2020 I really developed a passion for wildlife photography and ornithology. OWPF has been such a friendly society to be part of, so if you’re reading this, do join our WhatsApp group and come along to a walk, even if you’re new and it’s the middle of term!
